Weather Summary

Weather Underground Forecast for Wednesday, July 09, 2008.

A trough of low pressure over Scandinavia continues to spread widespread scattered showers over northern Europe on Wednesday. The system will produce a cold front extending from Finland into western Russia and south to Romania, and will trigger scattered showers along its path. Moderate to heavy rainfall is expected over northwestern Russia. Cooler temperatures are expected in Scandinavia and along the front as the low pressure pulls cooler air in from the north.

To the west, a low pressure system reaches the British Isles Wednesday morning and will bring moderate to heavy rainfall to the region. These showers will reach northern France and Germany by Wednesday afternoon. Warmer temperatures are expected over the European mainland as the system pushes warm air into the region from the south.

To the south, countries along the Mediterranean will see warm temperatures, mostly sunny conditions, and overall pleasant weather on Wednesday. Most areas will see highs in the 80s(F)/ 27(C) and 90s(F)/ 32(C).

Increased wind shear of about 20 knots plus some dry Saharan air that got injected into the core caused Bertha's sudden demise. The intensity forecastShear is on the wane...

Did you know that...

Tucson, Ariz. reported a high temperature of over 100 degrees for the 33rd consecutive day on this date in 1987. What is even more remarkable than that is the morning low was 68 degrees, the 4th record breaking low in the past five days.
