Daniel Aleksander Zabicki September 5, 1991 - October 10, 2008
Daniel “Danny” Aleksander Zabicki was born in San Diego, California to Laura and Roman Zabicki September 5, 1991. After a gallant battle with cancer, he died at his home in North Fork, California, October 10, 2008.
Danny packed more living into his 17 years than most who live to be 100! He was a voracious reader, lover of animals, dirt bike rider, music aficionado, snowboarder, movie critic, talented chef and foodie. His zest for life took him to some interesting places, like a marine biology trip to a remote island off the coast of Scotland, and his family’s vacation to Ireland a couple of years ago. His interests were varied and his enthusiasm for those interests was unquenchable.
His battle over the last year and a half did not slow this well spent life. Danny remained close to the things that mattered most to him - his family and friends - and taught us all lessons in making the most of each moment and living with faith. He brought a community together with the outpouring of love and support his fight garnered. With incredible courage he faced this battle with dignity, humor, strength and determination. We will never be the same for having known him and his spirit will live on in the ways we chose to live large in his honor.
Danny is survived by his parents, Laura and Roman Zabicki, his beloved brother, Andrzej Zabicki, his honorary sister, Lioni Azali, Grandparents, Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, countless friends and a loving army of people from all over the globe who met him through CarePages.com - DannyZab.
A Funeral Mass will celebrate his life at Our Lady of the Sierra in Oakhurst, California on Wednesday, October 15th at 11:00am. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Danny Zabicki Medical fund at Yosemite Bank in Oakhurst, California. Funds will be used to help families in the Mountain Community dealing with childhood illnesses.
