A grand looking morning underway, bright sun, cool 2C, the little southerly we have just enough to coax the flag to move abit. Similar conditons in the offing for the next few days, more typical weather for this time of year.

The departure of the brant appears to be a bit premature, large flocks in evidence this morning. Patrolling along the shore, no other waterfowl about it seems.

Donna settled in at YoHo, enjoying the down time, visiting and making plans for their abode as am certain it is in need of a some redecorating.

Emily in Quispam, as far as I know, dropped a txt when she arrived, nothing since.

Spring not evident this morning, overcast, a brisk westerly breeze, temp right at the freezing level. Similar condtions for the day, temps to remain in single digits for the weekend.

Emily made the sojourn to Quispam in 'good time', checking in at 10PM, the skipper must have not spared the horses as she off loaded before 9PM in Blacks.

Lots of wind overnight, Rob mentioned the trip home not a problem. They lost to RNS, however feel they are becoming more competitive. The team having a grand time travelling, and hosting the teams, a let down from hockey. He is playing mens baseball this summer by the time that is over just a little bridge to hockey.

A grand looking sunrise, giving over to overcast skies, the norm for the day it seems. The wind has flunked, temp a cool 4C, conditions to remain cool and sunny breaks for the next few days.

Harbour very quiet, not a bird to be seen, brant must have left with none of the usual build up of the group before they left.

Donna on the boat this morning, a much better day to travel across the Bay.

Some boats working yesterday, not a lot of whitewater, however long and heavy swells were certainly in evidence.

Wind has finally dropped, rain has let up, however Rain Advisory combined with Hazardous Seas Warnings remain. Rain continues, temp a mild 9C, breeze from SE to return by this afternoon, next few days indicates lots of rain with a chance of a few hours of clearing this evening.

Fog just over Ross Island, harbour is clear, no waterfowl evident. Have noticed the large flocks of brant missing this past few days, possibly moved off already.

Donna hanging on for another day to let the weather system clear out. Not interested in travelling in heavy weather, rain and heavy seas not a good combination to start a few days of relaxation.

Calm at the moment, temp 8C, foggy, can barely make out the outline of Ross Island. A big change in the weather starting this afternoon, rain, gale force easterly and SE overnight and tomorrow. Lots of rain for the first couple of days of the week. A spring version of April showers I suppose.

Emily making her way home from Quispam on the 1:30PM trip, might have some rain to contend with, however the wind just beginning to come into play by that time.

Fishery news remains static, not much going on at the moment. Have noticed some guys wrinkling and a bit of clamming also first dulse being dried, all a sure sign of spring.

Sun still out, however wet, windy weather this way comes. Rain by this afternoon, to carry on well into the new week. Currently 6C, wind SE enough to move the flag. Southerly and easterly winds the order of the new week.

Boat travelling a bit late yesterday, however they made up time on each trip. The ADVENTURE has lots of room to increase speed, anticipate they can make up 20 minutes on a 90 minute run lots of room on the throttle.

A couple of boats have traps infront of the house, something not usual till June, don't know if the lobster made it this far alreay or not.

The good weather promised has alluded Ingalls Head, at least for the moment, a cool 4C, damp with fog making visibility less than a mile. Forecast still indicates sun and temps in mid teens, remains to be seen.

Trees really coming alive with buds showing, lawns soon will need more attention than talking about it with green needing mowing in some instances. Donna and Emily managed to get the first effort of the flower gardens cleaned up last evening. Daffodils in great show, quite a few harvested already for inside.

A cool 6C due to NE breeze 15-20KPH, overcast, not expected to rise in temp past low double digit temps. The warm temps promised have disappeared for the next little while. Moisture and wind in the long range.

Emily returned last evening from her babysitting duties. Have indications that trip to Quispam might be in the offing for the weekend, would be surprised if such was not the case.

Local fishery news fairly static at the moment, lobster catch seems to have declined, no accepted reason for this being the case.

THICK fog, calm, temp a mild 8C, indication from the weatherman clearing and temp to climb into high teens. A southerly influence makes one skeptical that the clearing will actually take place, same idea for the next couple of days.

Rob still without his permit, going over the missed questions would indicate he failed to read the entire content before making his decision on the answer. He is one of the last of his group still in the writing pool.

Emily babysitting a couple of her boys they are impressed with her as they have suggested for the past several days it was alright if the parents left a bit early so Emily could look after them.

If this qualifies for Patchy Fog, as suggested by the weatherman, can't imagine what fog will amount to this spring. The shore barely visible, the order of the day, with clearing anticipated tomorrow. Calm at the moment with 25KPH southerly in the forecast.

Lobster price dropping back by $.50/lb, along with a decline in the catch.

Emily home this past weekend, however plans well in hand for upcoming visit to Quispam. Exams this week that impact on her final in June. Rob Attempting his fifth effort at writing for his Driving Permit, of course no problem this morning will see by supper time.

Weatherman has been living up to his forecast, yesterday a stellar day, same thing in line for today. Sky a bit overcast, absolute calm, temp a cool 3C, to rise into double digits with sunshine. Forecast suggesting similar conditions for the week.

Near high tide, large raft of brant gathered just offshore. Other waterfowl numbers not so evident, must be nesting by this time.

Managed to get more yardwork out of the way. When the fourwheeler come out Rob quite interested, managed to get alders down and even one trip out of the yard.

Green grass starting to show up, soon be time to get at the lawn maintenance, change in the season well in hand at the moment.

Fisherman going by the house this morning early 0500HRS, full tides dropping back time to get at it once again. The brant gathered in large numbers at daylight, rafts of them in several different locations that I could see.

A fine looking morning getting underway, low lying fog as the sun comes up, however burning off rapidly. Heavy frost overnight, expecting mid teens for temp, total calm at the moment. Weather remains up and down for the next few days.

Rob travelled with volleyball to McADAM yesterday, lost, however how could you beat it leave on 2nd boat, return on the last and still get credit for being in schoool.

Large flock of brant on patrol near the waterline once again this morning. Tide out far enough can't hear them, would be noisy if one in amongst them.

Typical Easter Morning weather, even if it is the first week of April past. Overcast, spitting flurries, temp on the plus side saying 6C, however seems much cooler outside. Nasty weather for the day, and most of the week no sun in forecast for at least three days out.

Full tides, one clammer taking advantage, lots of brant and other waterfowl getting at sea vegetation they wouldn't normally have the opportunity.

Emily at Quispam till tomorrow, our family gathering rather light. However turkey and all the fixn's the order of the day.

Emily off to Quispam for the Easter Holiday, nice day to travel with a mix for the weekend. Travelling to another grandmother for Easter Dinner, getting around on a typical Easter weather weekend.

Hope to finally get the last of the wood in the yard this weekend, all is down just a matter of getting the weather/ambition to zip it up and git r done.

A cool prelude to Easter Long Weekend, mostly overcast, temp just over the freezing makr, being pushed around with a westerly breeze 10-15KPH. Showers appear to be removed from the forecast with a gradual warming trend over the weekend.

Not much activity in the harbour this morning, brant and sea ducks must have moved off early to wherever they spend the day.

Traps going by a few at a time, price remains good, level of catch not too bad for the time of year. NO other fishery in commence at the moment. Our lone seiner in Yarmouth having work done on the seine, then on the slip prior to the herring season later on this spring.

Donna and Patsy had an extra time ashore yesterday, traffic held up on #1 returning to Blacks long enough to miss the 5:30PM trip. Being innovative they killed the time by checking out St. Stephen. A number of fellow travellers caught in the same traffic hold up.

Brant offshore this morning, just after daylight, took off as one and headed up the harbour. Not a one in evidence at the moment, still have the Canada Goose pair here in the afternoon.

Clear, cool and calm this morning, temp at the freezing mark, not expected to get past high single digits today. A change to damp weather for a day this way headed, not bad for the Easter Weekend, so far.

Donna and her shopping mate off to insure St.John hasn't moved this past little while. No particular chore in mind just a chance to look around.

More traps headed to work this week, price remains near the $6/lb level. The quantity of lobster being landed not high, however more than usual for this time of year. North Head lobster crate run larger lobsters, in 2-4 lb average, a bit larger than the market prefers.

Overcast, a slight draft from NW, just enough to move the flag on occasion, temp near the freezing mark, to rise into higher single digits. Similar conditions for the next couple of days. A hint of showers included for tomorrow and Wed.

GRAND MANAN V remains on the run, no official word on the status of the ADVENTURE. Indications are the shaft problem to be repaired before she will be released to be on the run again.

The ice season now officially closed, the place more than a little busy over the weekend. Folks of all ages getting a last chance till fall, has become a grand gathering spot as well as those on the ice. A grand success, the level of volunteerism remains one of the highlights for the good story and the commitment to make it work. The year will hard to duplicate with the MARS BAR Commercial and the NHL LEGENDS appearance, however am certain some fertile minds working on that concept for next season.

The harbour total calm, lots of brant having early service this morning. Lots of talking between them, not doing much just moving with the tide.

Emily in Quispam for church service this morning, probably supper trip before she makes an appearance. The GRAND MANAN V on the run till some decision is made on the ADVENTURE, still no definative time table or idea just what has to be done to fix the problem.
