...Updated change to soaring forecast from NWS Raleigh...

Effective February 9 2015 the National Weather Service in Raleigh plans to change the WMO header for the soaring forecast for Greensboro. The soaring forecast...when upper air observations are available...is issued once daily automatically around 1315 UTC. The current WMO header for the forecast is axus42 kgso with an NWS product identifier as rdumisgso. The WMO header is planned to be changed to axus42 krah with the same NWS product identifier...rdumisgso.

Interests in the soaring forecast should plan for the change. If there are any questions or comments about the change...please contact darin figurskey...meteorologist-in-charge...or Nicholas Petro...warning coordination meteorologist...at 919 515 8209. Again...on February 9 2015 the soaring forecast for Greensboro will change from axus42 kgso rdumisgso to axus42 krah rdumisgso.
