to 9 PM CST Friday...
A Winter Storm Warning remains in effect from midnight tonight to
9 PM CST Friday.
* Timing... rain will change to freezing rain from west to east
overnight tonight and early Friday. The precipitation will
gradually change to sleet and snow... before coming to an end
* Amounts... ice accretion of around one half inch is expected on
Friday... with localized amounts up to three quarters of an inch
possible. An inch or two of sleet and snow is also expected
before it comes to an end Friday afternoon and evening.
* Main impacts... treacherous driving conditions will develop late
tonight and continue through Friday evening. In addition...
scattered power outages will likely develop given the
accumulation of ice expected.
A Winter Storm Warning means significant amounts of snow...
sleet... and ice are expected or occurring. Strong winds are also
possible. This will make travel very hazardous or impossible. If
you must travel... keep an extra flashlight... food... and water in
your vehicle in case of an emergency.
